"Hello, my name is Stan, and I'm an Illustrator…"
I've been illustrating for a while now, I also teach illustration, write about it, track down retired illustrators and research it for designers on occasion. I've done a lot of editorial work and now I'm doing a lot of collateral stuff and online things. As long as I'm makin' pictures I'm happy! I thought it might be a good thing to come in out of the cold and post. Like most of us, I work alone, so feel free to comment on my work, I appreciate honest feedback.
The above illustration is of Brandy for Vibe magazine, Timbaland is the other little figure. This is the stuff I love to do. The original art is black and white airbrush that was colored digitally.

Gorgeous! I love how the whole illustration is half portrait and half design.
Fantastic stuff! I feel a little cubism in the face and a strong art deco influence in the over all design, two schools which I really admire. It is an interesting approach, not what I would immediately associate with Vibe, good idea man. Very stylish.
