Scott Neely Draws ED, EDD N EDDY!

Scott Neely Draws ED, EDD N EDDY! from Scott Neely on Vimeo.

Here's a drawing I did of all three of the Eds from the Cartoon Network cartoon Ed, Edd n Eddy! The hard thing about doing this kind of group shot is trying to make each Ed unique with their facial expressions and staying within their distinct personalities. Penciled with a 5H, then tightened up with an H lead, and then inked with the Pitt Brush Marker on cheap letterhead copy paper.

Scooby Artist Scott Neely Drawing Scooby - Sketch #2

Scooby Artist Scott Neely Drawing Scooby - Sketch #2 from Scott Neely on Vimeo.

Testing out my new Flip Slide HD camera and decided to draw Scooby since that is what I do professionally. Still playing with the lighting and such so it will be light on my initial sketching and it gets darker. Penciled with a 5H pencil for the initial breakdown then I tighten it up with an H pencil and then inked with a Pitt Brush Marker. I usually take longer to ink so I burned this out for the sake of a video. This is also in real time and not speeded up. For more: scottneelyart.blogspot.com

More old cartoony stuff... Part 2

Here comes some more from around the same time period around 2007-2008. A few environments plus a chibi-ish character. This could've been a really cool game but alas it wasn't in the cards. Such is the fate of many a game project the public rarely sees.

    Artbooks And More

Really stoked. The art books came in today via UPS and they look great. All of you who pre-ordered a copy or two will be getting them in along with your sketch soon. If you have not yet ordered a book, then you can do so right here.
Also want to share a warm up piece I did for my portfolio display I'll be showing on Saturday's Free Comic Book Day event being held in my local comics shop.
    Peace.

More old cartoony stuff... Part 1

Rummaging around I unearthed some unpublished stuff from years ago for various project pitches. These were all fun and very challenging. Some of them have that Golden Books feel which I never even realized until my AD at the time pointed it out. Amazing what our minds will pull from when asked to step out of our creative comfort zones. Anyway I'll post some more soon. Hope you enjoy my little strolls down memory lane until I can show new stuff:)

Hey guys and gals - just finished a psychadelic "Eat more fruit" poster. You can read my thoughts and process on it at the blog!

    New Website, New Logo

Ok,... so the last version of my new site was kinda clunky and hard to get around. This version is leaner and quicker ... hopefully. I also created new logos for myself. The green one is on the new site.
Let me know if you have any problems with the site. It may not work with IE8, so try FireFox instead.

    Blast from the past!

This illustration is from my early days as an illustrator. I did a lot of work for my client Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in those days and this is one of them for a cover of their in house magazine: LifeLines!
