PSM: Trading Cards

So I made this set of nine trading cards for no real reason a little while back. I think I'll make some more eventually but my hands have been bothering me lately and I'm not very easily motivated. All the best to all you PSM SFG!ers out there.

Sugar Frosted Goodness-Post Somethin' Monday

This is my first post to SFG. Thanks for the invite, Jeff! Looks like a great bunch of artists on this blog. I've been an illustrator and cartoonist for over 20 years, working for a bunch of people. Currently working full time as an illustrator for The Children's Place doing art for their boy's graphic t-shirts. Also do freelance, working for DC Comics on their Cartoon Network books and Nickelodeon Magazine doing gag panel cartoons. Go to garyfieldsstudios.blogspot.com and garyfieldsstudios.com for more stuff.

PSM - Fighter Jets

This is a cartoon I did a while back depicting fighter jets. This F-16 really packs a whallop against most of it's foes!

Enjoy!

Post Somethin' Monday - First U-boat Kill

This painting documents the first U-boat kill by an aircraft during WWII. The aircraft is a A-29 Lockheed Hudson and had this first encounter just off the coast of South Carolina in the summer of 1942. The sub is a German Mark VII class u-boat.

Enjoy!

PSM: Posters and T-shirt

From the archives.
A few years back I used to work at Big Idea productions in Chicago.
Here are a couple of items that I designed for premieres/trade events.

And an accompanying t-shirt design:

    New To The SFG Fold

Hi everyone! I just joined here and look forward to connecting with other illustrators in the blog community. I am a freelance illustrator currently living in Washington state, though I did recently study in the U.K. and plan on moving back. I have done a lot of work in vector illustration though in recent times have supplemented it with screen printing and collage. I wish I could come up with something witty to say, but can't think of much else, because it's almost 4 a.m. and I have a very busy week ahead of me...

You can find out more about me at my site www.susanburghart.com.

    Post Something Monday: Juan Tamad

Snap, Snap, Snap go the crabs!
For this week’s http://www.illustrationfriday.com/ theme of “snap”: this blog entry is dedicated to the popular Filipino folklore character “Juan Tamad”. His name translates in tagalog (the Filipino native language) as “Lazy John”. He was so lazy that on one hot summer day, he instructed a sack of crabs the way to his home instead of carrying them. What did he do when the crabs made their way?... take a nap under the Guava tree, of course. There is another story to that guava tree. He was so lazy that instead of picking the guava fruit from the tree, he sat and waited for them to fall. Now that is lazy! Have a good week everyone.

    Manhole

I hate cameras. I'm not very good technically. Cameras are over my head. I own a nice Canon digital. The only problem is I can hardly use the damn thing. Recently I've been photographing manhole covers. That's right sewer caps. When I got home from Prague and looked through my photos I discovered a great manhole cover i'd shot. It intrigued me. So I began shooting all the different ones around New York city. Now I do it wherever I go. I have a really cool collection. It gives me an additional thing to do on my flickr site. You can check out my collection here. If any of my readers have a digital camera and come across any manhole covers in your town or city, please photograph them and e-mail them to me. I need more. Just send them to tom@tommykane.com.
