My entry for this week´s challenge. Bunnies are known for their search of happiness, at least my bunnies are, and this one is in total ecstasy.

FLIPPER Goodbye Galaxy Games

I was hired by Hugo Smits at Goodbye Galaxy Games to create a Paper Foldable promoting their new DSiWare video game, FLIPPER! I came up with this playset scene foldable that's based on the actual game layout screens, which are old skool style isometric pixel renderings. The object of the game is to rescue your goldfish by figuring out a way to get to it by eluding enemies and altering the environment using power-ups! Not a totally new take on this, but this is part of an alphabet I have been working on for too many years. 2010 will be the year I finish it. The E took me 6 months to work out. The slightly bizarre story: I spent a week working in the George Eastman House, where there is a stuffed Elephant head, and it gave me the insight to draw this letter.

Dante's Inferno!

I've been kicking this one around a while and finally got motivated to finish it when I saw this months image challenge over at Gnomon of Dante's Inferno. I got inspired for this one driving down a wide open country road just east of the foothills between Boulder and Louisville CO. In the middle of blistering hot August day, a couple of road workers were filling potholes and touching up the asphalt with these long propane torches. It struck me as a sort of vision of hell to be out on such a hot day dressed in protective gear and torching a wide open, heat rippled expanse. Anyway that vision stuck with me for a while until I've finally purged it to pixel paint!
