Around 1982, the Ford Cortina XR6 Interceptor was introduced in South Africa - at the time a pretty powerful car. Sadly it became everyman's hotrod and now has a certain cult status among the spannermen. Several of the cars were modified (badly) and went out in a bang, as pictured above.
Incidentally, also the car the Stander Gang cruised around in for a bit.
