She hated me so hard

Illo for story about what to get teens for Christmas. Top of the list of what teens DIDN’T WANT, was socks, so I took it a little bit further.

A reader didn’t get it.

I'm guessing you got the letter framed and hanging in your studio -I would. Any way I love the illlustration, it has got a nice sarcastic feel to it

Now, what is Santa gonna bring little Octavio, for being so bad and ticking off that nice lady?... I like it too, by the way:)

Heaven forbid you portray a teenager in a light other than favorable! Good heavens don't you know what you're doing to the adolescents of this world by illustrating someone who DOESN'T look like an all-american teenager? The horror!

Give me a break, can you say out of touch with reality? It's an ilustration!!!

That lady is in for a rude awakening when one or more of her girls steps over the line and stops drinking her kool-aid. LOL

Wow! This is hilarious. Someone has a great sense of humor.

What did the editor have to say about this love letter?

...and to think that I used to know you back when you just drew innocent smiling devils with surfboards. HAAAAAHAA!!!

Can't you just picture this lady proudly passing out copies of her insightful and thought provoking letter to all her friends at the Tupperware party?

What oh what is my world coming to?!!!

Thanx to everyone for their comments!

yes, I'm framing that letter, posting it all over my Facebook and MySpace and ...
best of all ...
the letter is running in Sunday's Daytona Beach News-Journal letters to the editor section, along with ...

a smaller, black & white version of the illustration!!!

and yes, I'm sending her a Christmas card!

I think I'll send her my surfing devil and I'll add a Santa hat. Sort of a Santa Satan!

oh and I think it's great that on the bottom her name is scrambled but you can read it in bold letters on the top:) you're on your way to be a banned illustrator, Octavio!

I don't see the problem... it is a rather stunning rendition of someone just like my daughter...Is she saying my daughter is hideous and depressing? :) The girl thing thinks the pic rocks
