Sketchbook + Contest

Say hi to the OCTOBER SKETCH 2012 !! Youpi !

All October I will share with all my sketches about portrait studies. I say ALL so the good and the bad experimentation ! This week, you will see 20 pages of my sketchbook and about 75 faces !

PLUS – I start a contest with my Fanpage on Facebook (http://tinyurl.com/9jfnqva). If you become a fan, you could win a digital sketchy portrait from me. How its works : Every 10 fans, I will pick (randomly, of course!) a fan and draw his/her Facebook ‘s photo. The style will be the same as the sketch of the October Sketch. If you win, I will ask you if I can use your photo as model and to thank you, I will send to you a digital copy of it. You could use it as a new profile picture or on a blog, tumblr… Me, I will do a gallery on Facebook and on my website of all the winner.

Of course, I do it for fun and share with people who love illustration. You will understand that I couldn’t give you any compensation of any sort. I’m sorry !

I invite you to see more sketches at : http://stephanelauzonillustration.com/2012/10/02/october-sketch-1/

Crane Wife at Modern Eden Gallery

Hello all! I wanted to let you know about my latest work hanging at the very wonderful Moden Eden gallery in San Francisco, CA! I was lucky enough to be part of their latest group show, "Myth," and returned to a subject I find myself coming back to time and time again; the Japanese folktale The Crane Wife.

More info "behind the work" and purchase info here!

G-WHIZ! I haven't posted here in a long long time... though I'd share this study sketch from today...working on a show piece with halftone treatments...so I'm playing with halftones...
Hope you dig...

First Timer

Hi Y'all!

This is my first post at SFG. My name is Zan and I'm an Illustrator from Australia.

Happy to be a part of this group of illustrious illustrators and artists, hats off to Jeff!

I work mainly in oils, sometimes with acrylics, occasionally with digital, rarely with macaroni and never with excrement...click here to see more stuff.

Hello

My name is Lynette, and I'm a painter/drawer from the mid-west United States. I'm happy to be a new member of SFG and look forward to posting with you and seeing all of your work. I put myself in the magic realist category and enjoy working in acrylic, egg tempera, charcoal and graphite. This is an acrylic painting called Labyrinth that is an approximate self portrait. If you'd like to visit my blog, Mythmaking from the Other Side, the address is: http://lynettesartblog.blogspot.com Thanks for inviting me to be a member!

Impending doom...

As dark as I can get right now...

Just goofing around in my sketchbook. Background texture is Von Glitschka's "Sugar Frosted Crud," which is awesome, by the way. I'm starting to get the hang of what to do with those textures.
