Deki - Change a life with a loan

I've made an animation for a charity called Deki.

Deki empower people living in poverty to create sustainable livelihoods by providing access to microloans and training.

The animation aims to explain this process and encourage people to invest a small amount of money. Just £10 could go a long way to helping a lot of different people and you can always claim it back at the end. Quite frankly it’s a brilliant idea!

Vashti Seth, Deki CEO, said “We are really pleased with the animation that Ian created for us. Ian came up with the concept and kept us informed with his progress at all times. The animation explains what Deki does in a simple and informative, yet witty manner. We have had many positive comments and use it in all our presentations, as well as on our website – thank you Ian”.

The animation was shown at a re-launch event in October. The audience that night included the new Deki patron and animation Ultra-Don; Nick Park, which is the equivalent of having Lord Vader inspect your self-made lightsaber. :-/

Illustration for Maggies Cancer Caring Centres

Here is an illustration that I've done for a new project, Memories in aid of Maggie's Centres, a UK based cancer charity.

I was given the story of a cancer patient and was asked to illustrate it to go into a book with others. In my illustration I wanted to show the different journeys she had to go through during her fight against cancer, and how starting a family gave new meaning to life that helped her on the way. Memories will be released in the summer of 2010 along with the launch of an exhibition in London

Haiti Earthquake Relief Art Charity Sale

hey SFG people!

Girls Drawin Girls are organizing an online art sale to donate proceeds to the American Red Cross (or a Haiti related charity of your choosing) to go towards the victims of the Haiti earthquake.

We're looking for donated pieces of art to post and to help spread the word:

We are accepting submissions on a rolling basis through the end of January. Please send your piece's information (title, dimensions, medium, price & shipping cost, with a JPG of the work) to girlsdrawingirls at gmail. If you have a specific charity you would like your piece to go towards that is not American Red Cross, please specify.

Artists will be responsible for shipping their artwork once sold.  GDG will send artists the shipping fee and mailing address of donors.

THANK YOU!!!

Cards for Kids

Here's a rapid-fire illustration/logo job I did for a charity event benefiting kids with cancer. This one is a little bit Russell Benfanti, a little Bob Staake, and a whole lot of what you'll get out of me with no pencil sketch or pre-conceived ideas in my head. This whole thing took me about three hours, start to finish.

Wonder Woman Day October 28, 2007

Has it been a year already? Last year, Wonder Woman Day raised over $15,000.00 for the two shelters: The Raphael House of Portland Bradley-Angle House. Andy Mangels masterminded the event to be a part of national Domestic Violence Awareness Month. You can bid here. Lots of great original art by Adam Hughes, Jim Lee, Steve Rude and lots more! Even if you're not in the area, you can bid online. It's a really good cause.
