Several years back, Maggie Pickard (my wife, rep & creative partner) and I created a musical entitled "Grumpy Lou & His Kazoo". I wrote the songs and Maggie created the "book" for the live production that we did locally at the Rhinebeck Center For Performing Arts. We projected about 600 slides from 4 carousels (it'd all be done digitally in PowerPoint or something today) cropped from some 200 of my drawings. A fine local actor, J.T. Carlisle, read the story while the slides were shown and a live band I'd put together, the Polecats, played the songs on cue. Here's one of the images of Grumpy Lou conducting his Vocal Range Rabbits.
We illustrators are often so isolated from each other (though blogs like SFG sure help) that it's a really great experience to work with a group to realize a project. To hear a clip from the show and find out some more details about the show, go to my Drawger Blog at:

HE!! HE!! This is very fun!! Love it!
Great stuff. I love imagery where the style already is funny enough for a good laugh.
Man I'd love to see that Elwood. You have to produce it for an online download or something. I'd pay.
Thanks, kiddos! If Maggie and I ever get up the gumption to do something with this material, I'll be sure to post it here ASAP! I'll be putting up another song from Grumpy Lou soon on the blog & will let you know about that. I think you'll like the "Bad, Bad Bunny Blues". And, believe me, those buns can be BAD!
