Spies, Spies, and more Spies!

I know I say it every time, but it's been far too long since my last post here at good ol' SFG!
So for this post I thought I'd share avec vous all a couple of illos I just finished up for the March /April issue of Kayak magazine, a swell historical kid's mag. From the title you've probably already guessified that the theme for this ish is spies! Besides the cover I wrangled up four illustrations for the main fiction piece, set in 1955 around a young girl's well nurtured fears over foriegn spies and atomic attack. Since it was only fitting I decided to do my best to present the spots as they might have appeared in a 1955 kids magazine, down to the two-colour printing.
For the whole story and all the images you'll have to wait until March 1st at your local news stand, but for a couple more sneak peeks check out my recent Flicker post over at, well... Flickr!

Very well done. I would have though it was an actually old art scanned in. The colors work great and the line work, amazing.
