Self Portrait...?

Here's a quick painting I did in the last 20 mins, just trying things out in Painter and then taking it through to Photoshop.... it wasn't going to be a self portrait but somehow lots of my sketches end up as one...

Self-Portrait and Intro

Hi everyone, I've just joined and am looking forward to being a part of this collaborative community, especially among such inspiring talent! As this week's challenge is self-portrait I thought I'd post this little drawing I did, as the 'creature' sitting on the book is based on a photo I had a friend take of me (to get the pose right), the only difference being that my hair was up in a bun at the time!

I've only just started drawing again after a 20 year hiatus, and am enjoying it thoroughly and trying to do something daily as I'm planning to make it a permanent part of my life. Here are the links to the sites where I put my work up:

Self Portrait

When I was little, we had a dog named Tiger. He was our first dog. He didn't really like me very much. He bit my hand and I ended up with a couple of stitches.

We work for an American publisher and according to their rules every employee must have hair (Apparently it's stipulated in the American constitution) so I wear a wig at work. Luckily my extensive wig collection comes in handy here. The Polar bear is an idea from management, they say it keeps our focus while in crunch.

Self Portrait

To all of you not familiar to the norwegian language, I have to explain how this is ment to be my self portrait.

My first name, Bjørn, means: bear, in norwegian.
My last name, Boge, means: bow, (still in norwegian.)
That makes my logo, very simple though, but never the less; a riddle!

I try not to do many self portraits...
they are too painful.

in Korea though I looked like a bear.

ok so a bit about me....you could call me the reluctant canadian...canada is just fine...except for the blippity blip blap cold...as you can see the dog agrees with me...

i really think the stork messed up...did i mention how much i hate winter?

I guess you could call this a self portrait as well. ;)

All themed up and nowhere to go.

My usual style is pretty rooted in a brush and ink, 40's comic-meets a woodcut sort of deal. For my self portrait, however, I wanted to do something more painterly. I started off in my normal style and then, in a moment of inspiration, started to paint over it. In the end, I flipped the layers around and placed the lineart atop the realistic value changes. I don't dig it enough to incorporate the change into my daily work, but it was a fun experiment nonetheless.

Who the heck is this guy?

It's Adam Levine, that's who. Well, that's not a picture of me but rather a recent doodle I did for Illustration Friday. I found this site from there and discovered a heap of inspiration on this blog and now I'm honored to be a part of it. I think everyone here is crazy tallented...I look forward to adding to it and checking out what people post in the future. I plan to rot my teeth with sugar frosted goodness!

Self-portrait - Six Months of Me

On the HOW design forum I have made a habit of changing my self-portrait avatar to reflect the season, and of course, with my 3-d glasses on. This has basically became a brand for me. Here is a composition of the past 6 months.
