WIP for Exhibition
Just an update on the painting for the next Artboy Gallery exhibition. What you see here is about half the panel and the background in progress. Then just need to add the characters and put on a nice coat of varnish.

Eat more Pavlova!
My favourite food has to be a freshly baked Pavlova cake. It’s a type of meringue with a crispy crust and soft, light inner. It’s a dessert that originates from New Zealand and we mainly eat it at summer time barbeques, around the Christmas period or other special occasions. However I can eat it anytime, especially when it’s topped with some delicious cream and a serving of fresh kiwifruit and strawberries. Yum!
Some Australians claim it as their national dessert but we all know that is not true, I guess they are just jealous that we thought of it first. Anyway, all this talking about food makes me hungry.

Cookies and Bunny Short Film
Cookies And Bunny from Onno Knuvers on Vimeo.
A very short film for TAIS (Toronto Animated Image Society) Bunny Jam submission. It's the story of a bunny and some cookies. I'm hungry now.

Spent all your money?

Spent all your money? The good thing about being an illustrator is that you can just create your own money. But the only downside is that I don't think many businesses would accept it. Also just keep it quiet because the pesky government calls this counterfeiting.
Never the less I'll be pressing a head with my new currency. Not sure what I would call it, maybe Toon Bucks or Onno Dollars?
Cheers
Onno

Robot Versus Rabbit
Just working on an animation project which has the more traditional painted background and characters. Which is a nice break from all the normal vector work I seem do. In fact I have an idea for a short film I may do in this style. For the process of this particular animation just I scanned the cleaned up linework and painted them in Photoshop before importing them into Flash. The animation for this project it quite limited but it seems to work nicely.Who do you think will win in a fight between the robot and rabbit?

Odosketch
I just came across this really interesting online sketch site called odosketch. It's a neat little sketching application that attempts to replicate the experience of drawing with natural media. It's got a nice selection of colours and media which look at act pretty realistically. You can also save your creations and what I think is the coolest feature is that you can watch them get redrawn before yours eyes.

SFG: Pink
This was a T-shirt design I submitted for SFG for a charity fundraiser, for a local hostipal I believe. I'm sure Jeff can confirm the exact details. This must have been at over 2 years ago now or longer because it's not in the blog archive. It may have even been before SFG published a blog :)

6 Decades of Awesome Hair Styles
My Father recently celebrated his sixtieth birthday. So for this special occasion I created the above image showing off some of his awesome hair styles over the last six decades. In the image there are a number of hidden meanings and symbols which family members picked up on.
I got the image printed by Giclee Prints on some nice canvas and it looked really nice. I'll always impressed by the quality of their print, the colours come out amazingly beautiful.
We all had a laugh and the present was a success.

The mini-shows are arriving..very soon
I thought I would share with you this screen shot.
Just been working on a short 10 second short film for TAIS's (Toronto Animated Image Society) Chicken Jam and therefore finally bringing my mini-shows to the internet. This wasn't planned to be my first minishow to be released but because it is so short and the deadline is looming it looks like this one will be out first. So hopefully by the end of this week it will be finished, if everything goes to plan.

I’ve just updated my site (http://www.onnoknuvers.com/). Just trying to make the site a bit more fun with a different layout, some more characters and nice colours. Just need to update my portfolio as the work is a little old now and also I need to add my animation showreel.
I hope you enjoy it and let me know what you think (including any spelling mistakes I’ve missed)
