Greek T-Shirt

This is a commissioned piece I did for Hellinis Imports Co., Inc. They provided the t-shirt concept and tagline, then I designed the characters and layed out the text. The Greek text translate to "My Grandparents got me this t-shirt because they love me this much."

This is a cover I did for an Israeli children magazine.

The theme: the Jewish holiday of Sukot.

On that holiday each family build some sort of booth outside their house, decorate it and sit, eat and drink there for 7 days.

Cards for Kids

Here's a rapid-fire illustration/logo job I did for a charity event benefiting kids with cancer. This one is a little bit Russell Benfanti, a little Bob Staake, and a whole lot of what you'll get out of me with no pencil sketch or pre-conceived ideas in my head. This whole thing took me about three hours, start to finish.

If anybody's been following along with my weekly robot ABC book project, you might have noticed that I missed posting what should have been the letter D last week. That's because my entire family (myself included) was hit by one nasty case of the flu. Well, I'm back from death's door, and this is what would have been week four: Robots Dive. Hey everyone, it's week two and my Robot Alphabet book is progressing nicely. If you missed out on my earlier post, the short version is that I am in the process of illustrating my first children's book. SFG: Science Fiction

Howdy y'all! To put it bluntly, 2007 really sucked for my wife and I. No need to go into details, but just to put it mildly, it seemed like every day brought one more bit of bad luck our way. Through it all, the one thing that was a constant bright spot in our lives was our three-year-old Lucas. So when 2008 began and Lucas asked me to make him a book about robots, that was all the inspiration I needed to try something I've never attempted before, namely, illustrate my first children's book. It's called Robot Alphabet, and I plan on blogging about it on a weekly basis, taking us all the way from A to Z (you can find the site here: http://www.robotalphabet.com/). The fact that this week's challenge involved Sci Fi, made it seem like the perfect time to announce what I'm doing to the world. Every week I'll be adding a new illustration showing the things robots do, starting with this week's entry: Robots Awaken. I'll also be posting sketches, doodles, tutorials, anything and everything that will demonstrate what I'm doing to create this book. When it's all done, I plan on publishing it through Amazon's BookSurge. I hope you check out my new site regularly. This is quite literally a labor of love for me.

My Favorite Places

I haven't posted anything for a long time - I've been scrambling to finish up all the illustrations for a second book.

I've got minor revisions to one illustration, then the drawings for My Favorite Places A-Z will be done. The actual books for My Favorite Sounds have shipped and are available online, and should be in bookstores soon.

Phwew.
