SFG: television

Who hasn’t heard these words in their lifetime…
“Just sit right back and you’ll hear a tale/A tale of a fateful trip…” ?

Sure, everyone claims they “hate it“, they think it’s “stupid“… but everyone has seen at least one episode. Everyone instantly recognizes the theme song. Every guy has had the Ginger/Mary Ann debate. Everyone has questioned why did the Howell’s bring every dollar of their wealth and a friggin’ chest of clothes on a three-hour tour, but Gilligan just brought that one red shirt. Everyone has wondered how the professor can make a washing machine out of bamboo and coconuts, but he can’t fix a two-foot hole in an otherwise unharmed boat.

Screw Lost, Gilligan’s Island is why we love televison.

Making up for lost time.

Sorry that it has been awhile since my last post. Here is something new, My take on Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

Ghost Stories

My two older brothers always had fun telling me all their ghost stories and spooks lurking around our house back in Manila. Those days were priceless!

The internet surge!

I did this for a magazine about 10 years ago. (can you see the difference in technology?)
Via WPA style!

MetalMan Project/"I Pull Knives on People"

My contribution to DopePope's MetalMan Project Volume Two. This is a very cool project centering on re-visiting art created during childhood, something I can certainly identify with.

Sprout - Outings

This is an image from a story about a woman named Agnes who discovers a mysterious growth on her head that evolves into a little green entity with a mind of its own. Of course, the entity's name is "Sprout".

In this series which you can read here, Agnes takes Sprout for ride in the country; he particulary likes riding down the hills. When they are in the country, Agnes can remove her hat, which normally conceals Sprout from prying eyes, so that he can enjoy the fresh air.

DI: Robert Carter

Another great DI Interview, this time with illustrator Robert Carter. Robert contacted me interested in being interviewed for Design Inspiration and I was so blown away by his work that I begged and pleaded with him to join SFG and share his work here as well. Lucky for all of us, he agreed. I think you'll like what you see, go check it out.

Birthday

This is a celebratory post on a couple of counts. Firstly, the topic for Artwords this week is Birthday, and it's my birthday tomorrow, wonderful coincidence that I couldn't let pass. And it's my 100th drawing posted since I started this blog!
