Where is the SFG Blank Book?

I need input!

I think I need to make one thing clear to all the participants that have signed up for the SFG Blank Book Project. Part of the agreement was that each participant would send in a shot of themselves with the SFG Blank Book box and also a teaser shot of thier contribution to the Blank Book (see sample in the map on the site and in the previous posts from those who have followed the rules).

It may seem trivial, but this content is a integral part of the project for a few reasons; 1: it keeps the future participants motivated and interested in the progress of the book, 2: it shows our readers where the book is presently located and a tease shot of the sketches to date, and 3: it offers a small taste of the geographic area in which each participant lives to make this project a bit more value added.

I don't want to see this project die before it even gets a chance to grow, so I would encourage all the participants to follow through with the plans that Jeff and I have originally laid out for this project. We want to do another launch in the future, but if this project isn't successful, that won't happen.

Please contact me at the email address posted in the tracking map post on the site if you have any questions, concerns, or just want to say hi.

Let's all work together to keep the project fresh and keep the book alive.

Thanks!

Steph D.

I'm not a participant this time, but hope to be next time, so I do hope it doesn't die...

Question: what happens to the book once it done? Who keeps it? Will it be exhibited? Auctioned for charity? Juried for best entry? It is unclear on the website what its ultimate destination is. Perhaps an auction for charity would be motivation for those involved?

Great questions Kate.

Once the book is completed, Jeff and I are publishing the book to pdf and sharing it online. We also plan on publishing through Lulu.com to offer each participant an opportunity to have a book of the complete project.

We would like to offer the book to display at various venues and are open to suggestions and offers.

Your suggestion to offer a final resolution by auctioning the book for charity is a good one and I'm sure jeff and I will be looking for the best possible way to represent the work that graces the pages of the blank book.

Thanks!

I'm glad you posted this Steph! I had commented on the BBBlog about it's whereabouts and I really hope it comes back together. It was so much fun to do and it has such great potential so I sure hope it doesn't die!
