Hi guys!
I've been completely remiss in posting the results for the latest Dog/Cat Food for Thought Challenge! My apologies,it has been a crazy, intense last couple of weeks. Warren has made his selections and emailed me last week with his decisions. Some great submissions this year! Here are the winners as outlined in Warren's email...a hearty congratulations to the winners!
"Dear Jeff,
Please thank your illustrators for another successful challenge that called for a submission of an original vintage dog or cat food label to win copies of my new books, Dog Food for Thought and Cat Food for Thought (Insight Editions). I only considered the entries that were in the label format but appreciated the artistry of posters such as Habbernink’s, Dog Eats Dog.

GoodBoy! by Jerry Gonzalez. Jerry was the very first entry. I was impressed with his enthusiasm and his great label art that harkened to the classic retro theme of “dog as chef.” Also appreciated his modern color palette and stylish logo. A winning combination.
Dog-Gone Delish by Kim Holt. I loved Kim’s heart warming label art, the “savory” colors and retro accents. Great job!
Lord Chumley by Zack Rock. Zack was one of the winners in the 2009 Ad Boy challenge…..so two in a row! Besides Zack’s impressive ability, humor and artistry, I also appreciated his kind words about the purpose of books like Dog Food for Thought and Cat Food for Thought. We are humbled by the fact that such talented illustrators such as Zack find inspiration from artwork we present in our anthologies of advertising design.
Signed copies of Dog Food for Thought: Pet Food Label Art, Wit and Wisdom to Jerry and Kim and a Cat Food For Thought to Zack. Thanks for your participation. Look forward to next Spring when the sequel our best selling 2003 Meet Mr. Product debuts.
