SFG: Televison

I don't have cable. I gave it up last summer, there's never anything good on in summer anyway. But I never got it back. I haven't really missed it. I get the really good shows on iTunes. It really limits the amount of time I sit around doing nothing but staring at an illuminated box. Of course, I still have Netflix... oh well.

New kid here

Hello fellow artists, art fans and google bots!
It's a great honor to have been invited on here! Kudos to Jeff for all the hard work.
My name is Roberto Campus. I do mostly fantasy illustration and sometimes comics projects for Marvel and DC. Anyways, I thought I'd start with one of my favorite pieces, it's a cover I did for Star Wars insider magazine last year. My favorite tools are Photoshop and a Wacom tablet (I just bought a 6x8 Intuos 3, after my old and beloved larger Intuos 2 died 2 weeks ago.. I am still mourning its demise).

It's Getting Hot In Here
It's been a while since my last post. Thought I would jump back into posting here with this little project.
I was approached by a client that was in the boiler industry. I was to do the artwork for a t-shirt design they needed. They sent me a picture of a boiler so I could see what one looked like. They wanted the boiler to have an attitude and to be ‘cool’. The shirt would read 'Boiler Attitude'. Here are several renditions made to the boiler as this project moved along. The client was constantly making changes to their original expressed desires. So I did become a little weary of drawing and redrawing but in the end the client was happy and I get to show off all the designs together in one place here for you to see. So the rejected designs weren’t an entire waste.

‘Can you add some pipes?’

‘More pipes please.’

‘Can you take out the rivets and have a tongue sticking out?’

Underworld

I was asked to be in Underworld magazine. It's an online magazine. The thing is you have to do your own layout. So I chose a bunch of my old drawings and did these two layouts in the allotted size. Plus you had to answer a few questions which I kept to a minimum. The problem is I broke all their rules. One page was only supposed to be for my interview. I try not to follow rules. The questions were the usual fluff. I wanted it to mostly be my drawings. The magazine agreed with me. Turned out pretty cool. One more thing off my plate. You know how that is.
