Hello Adam, I also love to draw houses. When I was a little girl, I would draw great rambling cottages with windows of all shapes and sizes. As a college undergrad I was fascinated by the philosophy of Gaston Bachelard, who explored the metaphors, what he called the phenomenology, of space. You might be interested in his book The Poetics of Space, in which he plucks hundreds of metaphors from poems about nests, houses, drawers and closets. I'm also fascinated with miniatures and hideaways. How about you?
